Neighborhood is one of only 14 plans nationwide to earn a 4.5/5 NCQA rating, ranking in the top 7% of 201 Medicaid plans.*

Neighborhood is fully accredited with the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA).

  • In 2025, Neighborhood earned NCQA Health Outcomes Accreditation for Medicaid and Exchange products.
  • Neighborhood is rated 4.5 out of 5 in NCQA’s Medicaid Health Plan Ratings 2025. Neighborhood was one of only 14 plans nationwide to earn this distinction.
    • Neighborhood first earned NCQA’s “Excellent” Accreditation status in 2001 for its Medicaid product and has retained that distinction. (In 2020, NCQA removed “Excellent” status and the highest status a Plan can achieve is “Accredited”.)
    • In 2014, Neighborhood achieved the “Accredited” status–the highest possible status–from NCQA for its commercial marketplace product offered through HealthSource RI, and retained that through the 2023 accreditation cycle.

  • In 2025 and 2026, Neighborhood was named a Platinum recipient of the Bell Seal for Workplace Mental Health by Mental Health America.
  • Neighborhood has been named a “Best Place to Work” by Providence Business News for the past seven years, starting in 2019.
  • In 2026, Neighborhood received a USA Today Top Workplaces award.
  • In 2025, Neighborhood was named one of Rhode Island’s Top Workplaces.
  • In 2025, the Providence Business News recognized Neighborhood for its efforts in diversity and inclusion at the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Awards.
  • In 2024 and 2025, Neighborhood was recognized as the #1 Healthiest Employer in the 500 to 1,499 employee category by Providence Business News.
  • In 2024, Neighborhood was recognized by the Diversity & Inclusion Professionals as the Organizational Winner in Diversity & Inclusion.
  • In 1999, Neighborhood founded the Association of Community Affiliated Plans, an organization of independent, non-profit community-based plans dedicated to Medicaid Managed Care.
  • Selected by Center for Health Care Strategies for funding to assess how to incorporate adults with developmental disabilities into Medicaid managed care, to improve access to preventive care services for adolescents, and to help reduce health disparities among pregnant Hispanic women.
  • Awarded Centers for Disease Control grant, Beating Asthma, to develop a community based asthma program.
