New Health Plan Announced for Rhode Islanders Dually Enrolled in Medicare and Medicaid

INTEGRITY for Duals, launching January 1, 2026, offers expanded and streamlined access to care for Rhode Islanders

CRANSTON, RI— The Rhode Island Executive Office of Health and Human Services (EOHHS) and Neighborhood Health Plan of Rhode Island (Neighborhood) are announcing a new health plan for Rhode Islanders who are enrolled in both Medicare and Medicaid.

The new plan is a Fully Integrated Dual Eligible Special Needs Plan (FIDE-SNP), a type of Medicare Advantage plan designed for people with both Medicare and Medicaid, known as a FIDE-SNP. The new FIDE-SNP plan at Neighborhood is called INTEGRITY for Duals, and this will replace the current INTEGRITY Medicare-Medicaid Plan (MMP).

The transition to the FIDE-SNP represents a significant step forward in delivering more integrated care for dual-eligible members. This plan will provide support for members’ medical and non-medical needs, including long-term services and supports and behavioral health care.

“The FIDE-SNP aims to provide the coordination of benefits and services for dual-eligible members, ensuring they receive seamless and efficient care,” said Medicaid Director Kristin Sousa. “This change aligns with regulatory updates and best practices to enhance overall health care delivery for dual-eligible individuals.”

The new plan will go into effect on January 1, 2026. Dual-eligible individuals who are enrolled in the current INTEGRITY program will be automatically enrolled into the new FIDE-SNP offered by Neighborhood launching on January 1, 2026, without action needed on their part. Members will have the opportunity to opt out of the auto enrollment if they do not wish to participate.

“We are proud to partner with the State and others to support a smooth transition into our new INTEGRITY for Duals Plan,” said Neighborhood Vice President Medicare/Medicaid Integration Mark Cooper. “Our members can expect the same high-quality experience that earned Neighborhood recognition as the nation’s top Medicare-Medicaid Plan. Our dedicated team is committed to ensuring that our most vulnerable members—and the providers who care for them—continue to receive the support they need during this transition.”

Members can keep seeing their current providers. However, if their provider is not part of the new network, they can keep their provider for six months while Neighborhood helps them transition to another provider who is in the network.

Members will receive additional communications from Neighborhood about the new plan as the transition approaches, including a new insurance ID card they can start using on January 1, 2026. Members should continue to use their current INTEGRITY insurance card until December 31, 2025.
