Get to know a little more about Reggie S., Senior Technical Support Specialist in Information Systems, who enjoys helping everyone at Neighborhood!
What inspired you to work at Neighborhood?
Believe it or not it was destiny. I was unemployed after having been laid off from my previous employer. I kept seeing Neighborhood Health Plan of Rhode Island everywhere – from billboards signs, the RIPTA buses, going to stores, radio advertisements and each time I logged into my LinkedIn account job openings for Neighborhood popped up right at the top. Of course, I applied for the position that I was qualified for; and the rest as they say is history.
What innovative ideas or solutions have you contributed to?
At Neighborhood, I played a key role in developing and implementing a more efficient process for retrieving our IT equipment from former employees. By collaborating closely with the team and sharing my valuable insights, I streamlined the procedure. This enhancement has significantly reduced waste for the company and ensured that valuable equipment is recovered in a timely manner and effectively repurposed.
What skills or qualities do you think are essential for someone in your position?
I believe strong problem-solving skills, patience, and good communication are critical in this role. It’s also important to stay current with technology trends and to remain calm under pressure. Being able to collaborate effectively with colleagues and explain technical solutions in a way that’s clear to non-technical users also is a key to providing excellent support.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
What I enjoy most about my job is being able to help others and make a meaningful impact. Whether it’s resolving a technical issue or supporting a teammate, I take pride in contributing to our team’s success.
What are you most excited about for the future at Neighborhood?
I’m most excited about the opportunity to contribute to the company’s growth by helping drive innovation in the way we support our ends users and deliver technical solutions. I look forward to being part of projects that embrace new technologies, like cloud services and automation, and helping the team continuously improve our processes while providing great service to our end users.
What is a fun fact about you that your coworkers might not know about you?
A fun fact about me that my co-workers might not know is that I love biking, walking, and dancing. Also, although I’m terrified of flying, I really enjoy traveling overseas.
