July 23, 2026 (Smithfield, RI) – Neighborhood Health Plan of Rhode Island (Neighborhood) employees mobilized for the “CEO Challenge” and raised $18,874 to benefit ALS United Rhode Island, an organization focused on providing support to Rhode Islanders living with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).
Held on Neighborhood’s Smithfield campus on July 18, Neighborhood’s President and CEO Peter Marino and other senior leaders braved the dunk tank and bucket challenges all while employees lined up for a turn at soaking them. Employees from across the organization also participated in Neighborhood’s first-ever over/under relay, adding to the fun and friendly competition throughout the afternoon.
“ALS changes lives in profound ways, and families facing this disease deserve to know they are not alone,” said Marino. “The CEO Challenge gives our employees a meaningful way to stand with them, turning a fun and spirited event into real support for care, essential services, groundbreaking research and hope. I am incredibly proud of the compassion, generosity and commitment the Neighborhood team brings to this cause year after year.”
This year marks the sixth annual event of its kind held on Neighborhood’s campus and represents a longstanding tradition that celebrates Neighborhood’s employees’ generosity, teamwork and commitment to community. Year after year, employees have shown their incredible spirit, raising more than $85,000 to support the mission of ALS United Rhode Island.
