Beneficiary Protections/Critical Incidents

Are you at risk or in serious harm related to your safety, physical or mental health?

As a Neighborhood member, we care about you and encourage you to let us know if you feel your physical or mental health, safety or well-being is ever in jeopardy.  That includes times when you are not sure but you question if there has been neglect and/or abuse.  So that means, if you suspect that someone you know is threatening you, please let us know or any of the agencies listed below.

Here are other times you should pick up the phone and call:

  • Hurricane, Nor’easter or any natural disaster has made it impossible for you to stay in your home
  • You ended up in the emergency room or being hospitalized because the wrong prescription drug was given
  • Personal items have been stolen
  • You want to commit suicide or have attempted suicide
  • Someone is taking advantage of your personal finances

If any of these situations happen, please let your Neighborhood care manager or Member Services know.  Most important thing to remember is that you’re not alone.  There are people who can help you including:

  • Neighborhood Member Services 1-401-459-6601 (TDD/TTY 711)
  • RI Division of Elderly Affairs (DEA) 1-401-462-0555
  • RI Department of Behavioral Health, Developmental Disabilities and Hospitals (BHDDH) 1-401-462-2629
