BlueChip for RIte Care members transition to Neighborhood and UHP

The Rhode Island Department of Human Services (DHS) will be transitioning the Blue CHiP for RIte Care members in four rollout phases: October 8, October 22, November 5, November 23, 2010.

The members that Neighborhood will receive in the October 8th enrollment file will be effective October 18th. Their member ID cards will be distributed prior to their effective date.

Please note it is possible that you may see ACTIVE Blue CHiP for RIte Care members cards until December 1st when the last group becomes effective with Neighborhood. Your staff can always check the DHS eligibility website to check to see to which plan the member is currently assigned.

Neighborhood will honor all prior authorizations previously issued by Blue Cross Blue Shield.  Please remember to check member eligibility and Neighborhood authorization requirements before providing continued or new services.
